At the beginning there are just marks on a piece of paper, and ideas in my mind; then, slowly, the matter begins to take on form, surfaces begin to move and come to life with the color of the oxidations and bright gold plating. The natural look of the metal is transfigured by extraordinary and unexpected changes caused by the simplest chemical reactions. I can’t help but feel like I’m unveiling some hidden power from the material; a mysterious, deep, ancient beauty that can be observed only in fleeting magical moments. 

When silver is naturally oxidizing, there is a moment when it gives off deep blue reflections. When in the presence of the simplest chemicals, it takes on an absolute and irresistible blue hue: that is when I’m challenged to capture that beauty and through my work, to give matter meaning and substance, to find a way to reveal its enchantment and grace.

The shapes intertwine, chase each other, overlap each other as like a puzzle, and the metal and its shadows give sense and consistency even to empty space, much the way silence enhances the music that surrounds it.
